Discover Forget Me Not Cafe

I first walked into Forget Me Not Cafe on a quiet weekday morning, the kind where the street hums softly and locals drift in with newspapers tucked under their arms. Tucked away at 2/399 Honour Ave, Graceville QLD 4075, Australia, this neighbourhood diner has the easy confidence of a place that knows its regulars by name. The room feels lived-in in the best way, with sunlight spilling across wooden tables and the steady rhythm of coffee being ground behind the counter.

What stood out right away was how the menu balances comfort with intention. You’ll find the classics you expect from a suburban café-think hearty breakfasts, toasted sandwiches, and fresh pastries-but they’re done with care. On one visit, I watched the kitchen prep a popular smashed avocado plate, starting with ripe avocados checked by hand, sourdough toasted to order, and a drizzle of olive oil added only at the pass to keep flavours bright. That kind of process might sound simple, yet it’s exactly what separates an average meal from one people talk about in reviews.

Coffee is clearly taken seriously here. The baristas dial in shots throughout the morning, adjusting grind and extraction as humidity shifts, which aligns with best practices recommended by the Australian Coffee Association. Studies from industry groups like this consistently show that temperature control and extraction time are key to flavour consistency, and you can taste that attention in every cup. Whether you order a flat white or a long black, the result is smooth, balanced, and never rushed.

Beyond breakfast, the lunch offerings lean into what works for Graceville locals. Fresh wraps, crisp salads, and warm meals rotate based on availability, which keeps the menu feeling current without being overwhelming. I once chatted with a staff member about their approach, and they mentioned sourcing produce locally whenever possible. That aligns with broader Australian hospitality trends, where smaller cafés reduce food miles to support quality and sustainability, a point often highlighted by organisations like Restaurant & Catering Australia.

The location plays a big role in the café’s charm. Being set along Honour Avenue makes it an easy stop after school drop-offs or a casual meeting spot for nearby professionals. Parking is straightforward, and the relaxed pace encourages you to linger rather than rush out the door. Many reviews mention how welcoming the service feels, and from my experience, that’s accurate. Orders are remembered, preferences noted, and conversations flow naturally, which builds trust in a way polished branding never could.

Food safety and cleanliness are also clearly prioritised. Queensland Health guidelines require strict standards for handling and preparation, and everything from the open kitchen layout to the tidy service area reflects compliance with those expectations. While no café is perfect during peak hours, any small delays I’ve seen were communicated honestly, which matters more than speed alone.

It’s worth noting that like many independent diners, opening hours and menu items can shift slightly depending on staffing or seasonal ingredients. That flexibility might surprise first-time visitors, but it’s also part of what keeps the experience genuine rather than mass-produced. If you’re planning a visit, a quick check of recent reviews can help set expectations for the day.

Overall, Forget Me Not Cafe feels less like a business chasing trends and more like a local fixture built on consistent food, reliable coffee, and real human connection. The experience reflects what many hospitality experts agree on: when process, product, and people align, customers don’t just eat-they come back.

  • What a beautiful experience at Forget Me Not cafe! The high tea was delightful. Gluten free option available. Sitting amongst the mural artwork on the walls was lovely. This venue was easy to find and parking out front was convenient. All the staff were lovely and ever so helpful and efficient. Reserving a table would be a must for this cafe to ensure seating as they are quite busy. All in all we will be back!

  • A cute little cafe. Went here for high tea with a few friends and it was a lively experience. Pretty stock standard food for high tea with all your traditional favourites. Worth a visit if you are a fan of highteas.

  • I had wonderful experience working with Pla & Pete! They’ve poured their heart and soul into making FGMN Cafe a wonderful place for customers to enjoy and get lost in time. Pla is amazing! She can do almost everything, and her dedication everyday is wonderful. Pete is an amazing host and will make your dining experience a great one. FGMN is known for their wonderful high teas, in-house baked scones and a wide selection of your favorite food items. Coffee is bold and delicious. High Teas are recommended to book in advance - great spot to celebrate Mother’s Day, Father’s Day or your anniversary, as they’ll take care of you. Pete & Pla also took the time to help me with Work Cover due to a bike accident I suffered. Directing me to the appropriate contact so that I could get reimbursed for my injury. Thank you so much!

  • We had a wonderful High Tea at Forget Me Not Café in Graceville for Father’s Day with my wife, daughter and myself. The whole experience was lovely. The food was fresh, beautifully presented and there was such a nice variety of sweet and savoury treats. The staff were warm, welcoming and attentive, which really made the occasion feel special. The atmosphere is cosy and relaxed, perfect for enjoying quality family time. We’ll definitely be back again, highly recommend for anyone looking for a charming café experience!

  • We booked here for high tea for a birthday. We were so surprised at how amazing everything was!!! The service from start to finish from enquiring and emailing through to the service on the day was amazing. They are a small, family owned cafe so booking in advance is a must but well worth it. We have paid significantly more for high tea experiences in the past in the city which haven’t been close to this one. The fact they also cater for vegetarians (and well!) is another massive plus. Heaps of parking near by as well. Pla & Pete are lovely and we will definitely be back and book here for any events in the future.

  • Where do I even begin... I just hosted my birthday high tea here with a big group of people and it exceeded mine (and my guests!) expectations. From the very first correspondence with Pete and Pla, they went above and beyond to honour my requests and to work with me to create the event I had envisioned. Information is clearly communicated and in depth from day 1 so I could be more relaxed knowing exactly what I had signed up for when booking my event. The day itself ran smoothly thanks to everyone involved. The whole team was so welcoming, understanding, friendly, flexible and truly went out of their way to make my day perfect. The food and drinks were delicious, well-presented and generous. We will 100% be back in the future and I cannot recommend this cafe enough!! Especially if you want to host a special event - you will be well looked after. Truly, thank you to the FMNC team for making my birthday celebration so memorable!

  • Took my nan for high tea for her 80th birthday. The food was delicious and the couple who own the cafe were very friendly. So many teas to choose from and the coffee was good as well. The flowers they put on the high tea stands are fresh from the owners garden!:) highly recommend and will definitely return.
